This is an illustrative scenario that shows how HerdWhistle® Tags are designed to work with a sheep or goat flock. It describes no specific customer, and it reports no results.
The problem: a flock that scatters
Picture a flock grazing open or leased country. Sheep and goats spread out, some animals stray, and finding and checking them can take a full day. Much of that country has no cell coverage.
The approach: small ear tags with their own satellite link
HerdWhistle® Tags are ear tags that track livestock and wildlife with their own satellite connectivity and communication modules, so no collar is needed. They help you know where your animals are and what they are doing. Each Tag is solar-charged, with no battery replacement, and works alongside your official ID tag.
Two of the four sizes fit smaller stock:
- HerdWhistle® 250 Tag: a small ear tag for animals from 25 to 450 kg, with a sound cue.
- HerdWhistle® 100 Tag: a tiny ear tag for animals from 5 to 175 kg, with no cue.
Matching sizes to the flock in this scenario
Ewes, does, rams and bucks
Adult animals that fall in the 25–450 kg range can carry the 250 Tag, which adds a sound cue.
Lambs and kids
Young stock from 5 kg can carry the 100 Tag, which covers 5 to 175 kg. It has no cue and focuses on tracking.
What the producer sees
At the end of the day, the producer checks where the flock is instead of driving the range to find it. Animals that have wandered away from the rest stand out, so the producer can go straight to them.

Pre-sales and pricing
Pre-sales are open worldwide in two windows. If your 20% deposit is paid by 11:59 PM MT, February 25, 2027, your order ships on or before June 30, 2027. If it is paid after that and by 11:59 PM MT, August 12, 2027, your order ships on or before November 30, 2027. The 80% balance is due 14 days after the ready-for-pickup notice.
All prices and payments are in US dollars (USD). Prices are per unit, EXW Calgary, Alberta, and the price band is set by the quantity of each model in one order. Shipping, insurance, taxes, duties and tariffs are extra. Pre-sales are for hardware only; service plan details will come in an update before delivery.

- List each group in the flock with its expected weight range for the season.
