The American Association of Swine Veterinarians posted the November Swine Disease Reporting System (SDRS) update covering October 2026 data. PRRSV positivity continues to rise, with wean-to-market positivity near 45%. PEDV facility detections increased even as wean-to-market PEDV positivity eased in places, while Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (MHP) PCR positivity declined after two hotter months. AASV also highlights winter-preparedness resources focused on biosecurity.
These are national surveillance signals, not a diagnosis for any one barn. They do show endemic disease pressure remaining high as producers move into colder months when ventilation, traffic, and personnel movement get harder to manage.
Why it matters for producers
Rising endemic swine disease pressure is a reminder that early behaviour and health signals matter before clinical outbreaks. Winter biosecurity and continuous awareness of how pigs look and move day to day stay top of mind for pork producers.
